Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell is a American TV chef and former instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network celebrity with her signature long, blonde hair with a exuberant personality, shares easy to learn techniques and eliminates the fear of eating at restaurants on her TV show Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell worked for a time in New York at top restaurants and studied the Italian culinary practices and the landscape. Also, she was a contestant on Iron Chef America on Food Network. Burrell, who grew up in New York State's Upstate, began to develop a passion for cooking. After earning an English and Communication degree at Canisius College in Buffalo NY she pursued her passion for the restaurant business by enrolling as a student at The Culinary Institute of America. I was awed by every minute that I was a student of The Culinary Institute of America she says. Culinary Institute of America was an excellent place to study. Following graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) during her time at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Burrell gained a greater appreciation of Italian culinary and cultural traditions during her stay in Italy and this has affected the way she cooks. Burrell was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board to improve the lives of kids facing problems. Burrell is also a Juvenile Research Foundation celebrity ambassador who promotes the awareness of juvenile diabetes. In her capacity as a guest speaker and mentor Burrell travels throughout the US to talk about her passion for cooking as well as her professional career. Throughout Anne's culinary journey she has often said that I am so lucky to be able to share my true passion in life with others.
